COACH OF THE YEAR
George Bruns, Manhasset
Coaches were talking about the team he put together well before the season started, giving them a spot in the Preseason Sweet 16, and Coach Bruns did a masterful job
with them, guiding a team without any real superstars to a 25-1 season and the
NYSPHSAA Class A State Championship.

COACHES OF THE YEAR
CLASS AA
Darius Burton, Baldwin
Coach Burton also did a masterful job with his Bruins, putting together a tightly knit team without any real size and taking them to the New York Sate Class AA Final Four, where they battled the towering eventual undefeated State Champions right down to the wire.

CLASS A
George Bruns, Manhasset
Although they had talent, Coach Bruns turned them into an outstanding team that featured a balanced attack and played good team defense.

CLASS B
Matt Johnson, Friends Academy
He stepped into a challenging spot, taking over a top program with a great history,
but his Quakers have continued the tradition every year under his leadership, reaching the NYSPHSAA Class B State Championship game this season,
losing a heartbreaker by a single point to finish 23-3.

CLASS C/D
Will Fujita, Pierson
It's rare when a small school has everything come together for them at the same time - the right bunch of kids and the right coach, and that's what happened this season at Pierson. Coach Fujita got the most out of a talented group and took them all the way to a 23-3 record and the NYSPHSAA Final Four, where they dropped a close game to the eventual champions.

COACHES OF THE YEAR
NSCHSAA
Joe Conefry, Holy Trinity
The best measure of a coach is what he does with a team when it's not one of his best. This season's Titans were a good group to be sure, but not too many people thought
they would end up NSCHSAA Champions. But they did.

SECTION 8
George Bruns, Manhasset
He has most of his kids returning, so don't be surprised if they are back in the hunt
next season.

SECTION 11
Chris Rube, Kings Park
Coach Rube had his Kingsmen playing like a well oiled machine, getting off to a
blistering 24-0 start. They went on to win the Section 11 Class A crown, only to run
into eventual New York State Champion Manhasset in the Long Island Championship Game. They finished 24-2
