Patrick Burke, Smithtown West
An athletic, aggressive big man that goes all out all the time and is the consummate team player. He scores, rebounds, blocks shots, makes good passes, and plays excellent defense. Unfortunately, a season that seemed destined for championships was cut short by injury.

Liam Connor, Manhasset
A prototype point forward that does everything well - he scores, rebounds, sets up his teammates, and he's a good ballhandler. He led his team to its second consecutive Section 8 title.

David DeBusschere, Chaminade
A talented and multi-dimensional player that is a knock-down three-point shooter. He can create his own shot, moves well without the ball, can penetrate to the basket, is a good passer, rebounder, and free throw shooter and plays hard-nosed defense. He was NSCHSAA Player of the Year and MVP of the CHSAA State Semifinalists.

VJ Edgecombe, Long Island Lutheran
A super-athletic and talented player that does everything well, and does it at the highest level. The NIBC Player of the Year is at times unstoppable.
Matthew Garside, Kings Park
A talented and determined team player that is a natural leader, can score from inside and out, is a good distributer, and plays tough D. He is very capable of carrying a team when needed.

Malachi Moore, Copiague
An athletic and multi-talented player that does everything asked of him and does it well. He was the Alzheimer's All-Star Game MVP.

Joshua Petion, Baldwin
A throwback player that outbattles bigger players and gets things done with strength, skill, and sheer determination. He was a very important part of Baldwin's second consecutive Section 8 Championship team.

Jakkai Stith, Hempstead
Another throwback player, he's a bull of a guard that gets to the basket, knocks down free throws, and rebounds well, and he uses those qualities to set up his teammates and to take the game over if need be. He almost singlehandedly led the turnaround of a long dormant Hempstead program that reached the Section 8 semifinals.

Derek Reed, Southampton
A lightning fast point guard with a great handle, he runs the offense with great skill, makes pinpoint passes, and can score from anywhere on the floor. He is also a lockdown defender and led a very young team to the NYSPHSAA State Semifinals.

Jayden Reid, Long Island Lutheran
To repeat what we said last season, he is the best all-around player on Long Island's best team. The returning All-New York State selection is a leader that scores, distributes, and defends with the best of them and guided his team to a New York State Championship.

Frank Wilson, Hills West
A strong and athletic player that can be relied on to score, rebound, and block shots game in and game out. He can carry a team when he's at his best, and carried Team Long Island to a big Final Four win over the #1 seed in last fall's NIKE/IS8 Tournament.
